Si è diplomato in tromba con M. Catena e in composizione con L. Chailly. Concertista riconosciuto in tutto il mondo, è apprezzato sia nell’interpretazione della musica su strumenti d’epoca (tromba naturale barocca, tromba classica a chiavi, tromba romantica a cilindri e cornet à pistons) sia nell’esecuzione del repertorio contemporaneo. L. Berio lo ha scelto per eseguire in prima assoluta Kol-Od, sotto la direzione di P. Boulez. Famosi direttori lo hanno chiamato per eseguire I brani più virtuosistici del repertorio solistico: Sir J.E. Gardiner lo ha nominato tromba principale degli English Baroque Soloists per l’esecuzione dell’integrale delle Cantate di J.S. Bach e per il Secondo Concerto Brandeburghese, T. Koopman, direttore dell’Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, lo ha voluto per registrare la Cantata BWV 51 di J.S. Bach. Si è esibito come solista nei maggiori teatri del mondo: Concertgebouw di Amsterdam, Cité de la Musique di Parigi, Scala di Milano, Mozarteum di Salisburgo, Carnegie Hall di New York, Queen Elizabeth Hall a Londra e Wiener Konzerthaus. Ha pubblicato più di 20 CD con brani dal repertorio barocco fino al contemporaneo. È docente presso il Conservatorio di Novara e tiene corsi annuali di alta specializzazione presso l’Accademia di Santa Cecilia a Roma e seminari negli Stati Uniti d’America e in Europa. Gabriele Cassone graduated two music studies, one in trumpet class with M. Catena and second in composition class with L. Chailly. In 1988 he devoted himself to the baroque, classic, romantic and contemporary soloist repertoire, with modern period and trumpets. L. Berio chose him to perform the world premiere of Kol-Od, under the direction of Pierre Boulez. Famous conductors have asked him to perform the most virtuosistic solo repertoire. Sir J.E. Gardiner named him principal trumpet of the English Baroque Soloists for the entire cycle of cantatas by JS Bach and for the Second Brandenburg Concerto. T. Koopman, director of the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, wanted him to record the Cantata BWV 51 by J.S. Bach. Gabriele Cassone performed as a soloist in the major theaters of the world: the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Cité de la Musique in Paris, La Scala in Milan, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Carnegie Hall in New York, the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London and the Wiener Konzerthaus. He published more than 20 CDs. He teaches at the Music Conservatory of Novara (I.S.S.M. Conservatorio Guido Cantelli in Novara) and holds annual courses of high specialization at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome and seminars in the USA and Europe.
