Nicolas Baldeyrou inizia a studiare clarinetto all’età di otto anni. Ha studiato, successivamente, al Conservatoire Municipal du Kremlin-Bicêtre (con Pierre Billaud), al Conservatorio di Saint-Maur-des-Fossés (con Véronique Fèvre), e dall’età di 14 anni, al Conservatorio Nazionale Superiore di Musica di Parigi con Michel Arrignon e Jérôme Julien-Laferrière. E’ stato insignito del premio speciale Léon Leblanc per clarinetto basso (con Jean-Noël Crocq) prima di iniziare gli studi post-laurea. Dopo la laurea, ha vinto tre premi di alto livello: il prestigioso ARD International Music Competition (Monaco di Baviera) nel 1998, il Dos Hermanas International Claritar Competition (Spagna) nel 1999 e l’ICA Young Artist Competition (USA) nel 2001. E’ stato clarinetto solista con l’Orchestra Giovanile dell’Unione Europea dove ha lavorato con Bernard Haitink, Carlo Maria Giulini e Sir Colin Davis, con la Mahler Chamber Orchestra diretta da Claudio Abbado e l’Orchestre National de France diretta da Kurt Masur. Da allora ha seguito una triplice carriera come solista, insegnante e musicista presso la Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra diretta da Myung-Whun Chung, dove è stato nominato primo clarinetto nel 2011. Dal 2006 ha insegnato al C.S.N.D.M. di Lione.
