Egbert Jan Louwerse è professore di flauto e tutor dei corsi avanzati presso il Prins Claus Conservatory di Groningen in Olanda. Si è laureato in flauto al Conservatorio di Amsterdam con Pieter Odé e Marieke Schneemann. Ha inoltre studiato direzione d’orchestra, musica elettronica e composizione. Dopo gli studi in Olanda si è perfezionato in Francia con Christian Lardè, con l’arpista ed esperta di Debussy Marie-Claire Jamet e con il compositore Jean-Michel Damase. Per tre anni ha studiato la complessità ritmica e la micro tonalità nella musica Carnatica. Ha fatto parte di varie orchestre Olandesi. E’ membro del Nederlands Fluitkwartet, fa parte dell’ottetto “Blow Up!” ed è flautista dell’International Occult Ensemble, gruppo specializzato nella musica moderna. Con l’arpista Vera Kool forma il duo di successo “FluteHarp”. Nel 2015 la “Società Accademica Francese di Arti, Scienze e Lettere” gli ha assegnato la “Silver Medal” per il suo lavoro sulla musica francese. Nel 2017 riceve un altro Master Degree al Conservatorio di Amsterdam con la tesi “Fraseggio nella musica francese per flauto e pianoforte dal 1871”. Come compositore, alcuni suoi lavoro sono stati pubblicati da Donemus. Louwerse suona flauti d’oro Pearl e Haynes e un flauto di legno Braun.
Egbert Jan Louwerse is Professor of Flute and Mentor on the Masters Course at the Prins Claus Conservatory Groningen. He graduated as a flautist at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with Pieter Odé and Marieke Schneemann. He also studied orchestral conducting, music with “live-electronics” and composition. For three years he also studied the complex rhythms and micro-tonality of Carnatic music. He is a member of the Nederlands Fluitkwartet, is one of the flautists of flute octet “Blow Up!” and is flautist with the international Occult Ensemble which specialises in modern music. With harpist Vera Kool he has his succesful FluteHarp Duo. In juni 2015 he was awarded a Silver Medal by the French Société Académique “Arts-Sciences-Lettres” for his work on French Music. In 2017 he received another Master’s Degree at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with the thesis “Frasing in French music for flute and piano from 1871”. As a composer, some of his works have been published by Donemus.Louwerse plays Pearl and Haynes gold flutes and a Braun wooden flute.
