Andrea Zucco, torinese, ha iniziato lo studio del fagotto a dieci anni. Si è perfezionato con Sergio Azzolini presso la Musikakademie di Basilea e successivamente con Stefano Canuti. A soli 22 anni è Primo fagotto del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma e dal 2006 Primo fagotto dell’Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia a Roma. Come Primo fagotto ha tenuto concerti in tutto il mondo invitato da orchestre quali Bayerisches Staatsorchester, Filarmonica della Scala di Milano, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Bern e Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie. Nel 2008 è stato invitato personalmente da Claudio Abbado come Fagotto solista della Lucerne Festival Orchestra per suonare l’Uccello di fuoco di Stravinskij al Musikverein di Vienna. Collabora abitualmente con i più famosi direttori quali Claudio Abbado, Lorin Maazel, Bernard Haitink, Sir Antonio Pappano, Pierre Boulez, Valery Gergiev, Daniel Harding, George Prêtre e Gustavo Dudamel. Accanto all’attività orchestrale e cameristica, Andrea Zucco suona come solista in prestigiosi Festival internazionali come L’IDRS, importante rassegna che si tiene negli Stati Uniti, dove è invitato regolarmente dal 2009. Il suo repertorio comprende i Concerti per fagotto di Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi, Hummel, Villa-Lobos, Rossini e il Capriccio per fagotto e orchestra di Verdi, eseguito anche per il Festival Verdiano di Parma. Recentemente ha eseguito i concerti di Bach e Vivaldi con i Solisti della Mahler Chamber Orchestra, concerto trasmesso da Radio Rai Tre. Andrea Zucco tiene masterclasses in prestigiose Istituzioni quali il Royal Northern College of Music di Manchester, la Guildhall School of Music and Drama di Londra e il Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama di Cardiff.
Andrea Zucco began studying the bassoon when he was 10. He studied, among the others, with Sergio Azzolini at the Musik Akademie of Basel and with Stefano Canuti. At only 22 he was Principal Bassoonist of the Rome Opera House and from 2006 is Principal Bassoonist of the “Orchestra Nazionale di Santa Cecilia” of Rome. As Principal bassoon he has performed all over the world with Bayerisches Staatsorchester, La Scala Theatre of Milan, Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie. In 2008 Andrea Zucco was personally invited by Claudio Abbado as Solo Bassoonist of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra to play Strawinsky’s “Firebird” at the “Musikverein” of Wien. He works regularly with conductors like Claudio Abbado, Lorin Maazel, Sir Antonio Pappano, Pierre Boulez, Valery Gergiev, Daniel Harding, George Prêtre and Gustavo Dudamel. Alongside the activity of Principal Bassoonist and chamber musician Andrea Zucco is developing a soloist carreer that sees him active in many Festivals – like the main season of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia of Rome under Antonio Pappano or the “Verdi Festival” of Parma – and in prestigious venues like the IDRS conventions where he performed music by Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart and Fasch. He recently performed Bach and Vivaldi’s concertos with the Soloist of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra broadcasted from the Italian Radio Rai Tre. Andrea Zucco held masterclasses in prestigious Universities like the Royal Northern College of Music of Manchester, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama of London and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama of Cardiff.
